International Development

International development refers to the goal of improving the social and economic circumstances of the world's poorest, most vulnerable people in a sustainable manner. InterAction members work on these issues every day across the globe, whether it is on agriculture and food security, water and health or ensuring gender is integrated into programming.

Humanitarian Action

The primary objective of humanitarian action is to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity, without regard for race, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. For decades, InterAction members have worked with and helped vulnerable people across the globe. InterAction supports their efforts by addressing core policy issues that affect the work of our members.

Accountability

NGOs are accountable to multiple constituencies, including donors, the public, their boards of directors and staff, partners and the people they serve or represent. InterAction members comply with strict professional standards and are committed to demonstrating and enhancing NGO accountability and impact in development and humanitarian action.

Policy & Advocacy

InterAction is the nation’s leading advocate for international relief and development programs and the prime representative of U.S.-based international NGOs. With and on behalf of our more than 190 members, InterAction helps to shape important policy decisions on humanitarian practice and development issues.
